The thunder comes crashing down

I awoke this morning to the ear-splitting sounds of thunder and lightning splashing across the black sky. I remember I always used to wonder what made thunder, and when I found out it was caused by the lightning, I think I was disappointed. I always let my mind wander and I had some great ideas for the origins of the thunder - none of which had anything to do with lightning.

On some days I choose to think the thunder comes from one of the many places I imagine instead of the science behind it. The imagination can be so much greater than science, yet on occasion, science is full of imagination in and of itself.

Maybe someday I will have to fill in the blanks for where my mind sometimes takes me, but for now I am just relishing the sound of the rain pelting against the glass and the decreasing frequency of the thunder rattling the glass while the lightning races across the sky.

Take the hammer and keep on rolling . . .
